Intellectual Rights

Intellectual property requires both legal and social economical protection. The Society's attitude to intellectual property is a criterion of law enforcement on the state level. Intellectual property legislation in the Russian Federation is imperfect, therefore they fail to protect the most important objects of intellectual property (ideas), resulting in booming piracy crimes. Counterfeit ideas and products are abundant on the Russian market.

No one can state the accurate share of counterfeit products. For example, pirate videos and DVDs account for approximately 95% of the respective market. Buy a fake, we punish ourselves and infringe the author's rights. Pirates not only damage the national economy, they also punish the common consumer who purchases products a substandard quality.
